Thinking of gift ideas, it is inevitable that at my age or stage in life, receiving kitchen wares like beautiful le creuset bakeware or cooking gadgets as gifts are considered ‘normal’. I remember feeling awkward giving such gifts to my mom because they are primarily for the house or kitchen and ‘technically’ not for personal use. But now, I love receiving these gifts for any occasion. I am enjoying my time in the kitchen because I love to cook and sometimes bake for my family.
Maybe next time, I should come up with a wish list of kitchen items or gadgets I would like to have, but for now, let’s do a list of gifts that other people might like. Here are gift ideas for your friends and loved ones according to their lifestyle and hobbies.
Table of Contents
The Foodie
People who love to eat are the best people, said Julia Child. Most of the time, they love to cook too. And to let these people know you appreciate them in your life, gift them with something that they would use for a long time, like a cast iron skillet or a cast iron dutch oven (in their favorite color, buy this Blue Le Creuset here.). If they love to bake, a stand mixer is in order, if they don’t have one yet. A stand mixer is a multitasker – more than just a tool for baking, you can use it to make pasta, as a juicer, and more.
Do you know the person’s favorite cook? Then gifting a cookbook of that favorite would also be a good idea. You can also get them hampers full of their favorite breakfast treats.
The Health Buff
For someone who enjoys training, running, or just maintaining the extra weight off, training gears would be your best bet (I would appreciate a pair of volleyball shoes for example). A shake blender might also be ideal for a heath buff’s daily protein shake supply. Otherwise, a basketful of beef jerky and protein bars would we truly appreciated.
The Photographer
Be assured that your photographer friend has the best gadgets he could get his (or her) hands on. But a functional camera bag would be something they are wanting to be the longest time but still uses one that they’ve had since they picked up this hobby/career.You can also print out one of their best photos on canvass to be displayed at home.
The Artist
For an artist, a drawing tablet is a convenient way to stay creative even when on the go. A sketching wallet is another thing that they might enjoy having. Of course, anything that includes colors, painting colors on, or mixing colors would be perfect for an artist: sketchpad, petal pallete, watercolor set, yes maybe even old-school crayons. Here are some more gift ideas for you.
The Crazy Cat Lady
Or the in-denial cat dad. ^_^ Check if your cat-crazy friend has scratches on the sofa, if yes get a sofa scratch cover for cats, maybe three or more to protect the poor sofa. Well, really gifting something for the cat instead of the owner is something to be surely appreciated.
The Plantmom
If your friend loves plants – planters are great items. Make sure that you know the colors of the home to match the planter that you will buy. You may also find an indoor herb garden may be well-loved by the person you’re giving it to.
The Interior Designer
I think all housekeepers are secret interior designers, we all have that desire to keep the home looking clean, organized, pretty and with unique decors that would look good on instagram feed. For the bare walls they have at home, you can find out what their other likes are and buy canvas or photo displays for those walls.
The Gamer
Gift ideas for a gamer is the easiest to list down. The newest game console, the newest game, probably credits for in-game purchases are the most likely items they would really be happy about.
The Bookworm
Another easy to list gift ideas to do would be for booklovers. Of course, the latest book of their favorite author, probably in hard cover would be best. If they don’t have an e-reader yet, then it’s probably time to introduce them to one.
Gift Ideas for Kids
Gift for kids, even for adults, doesn’t have to be expensive. A trip to the cinema, to the funpark would give them long-lasting memories.
