If you’ve been doing home workouts long before, the situation may not have hindered your daily routine. For those who have not scheduled workouts but wants to stay healthy while at home, this piece is for you.

Bring Your Workout at Home
Stretching is a good enough way to keep your muscles from being lazy. Cleaning and keeping the house is a good activity that also makes one sweat and burn the calories. We do know that exercise is good, even if it’s only 20% of one’s overall health among other factors. Still, it’s not something that we voluntarily do everyday.
If you are into dancing, there are numerous dance workouts you can follow through on youtube – that’s from zumba to reggae, hiphop, to any other dance craze there is. Dancing is a fun way to keep you moving and keep your heart heavily pounding.
Clean House = Pink Health
Keeping a kitchen clean and pretty takes time, effort, and as said, makes you sweat a lot. And I’m sure you know how it is with cleaning the whole house. A clean home is not only worth showing off, it’s a safe haven to be in. Keeping the home clean makes its inhabitants protected from many ailments, viral illnesses included. – By this, we mean too our current situation.
Washing hands, wearing masks, disinfecting are the basics to keeping safe while outside. At home, we do this also even on normal days. Spraying disinfectants also add a layer of protection.
Right Food
We are aware that sugar doesn’t really do us good. It may give us an energy boost but it’s not a good choice to have in the long run.
While cooking and baking is another activity you can do with the kids, choosing which food to serve the family is an all different decision.
Homegrown and less-processed food will always be the best choices. And when I say less-processed – no bread, no pasta, no pizza, and such. Stay with healthy choices like chicken, broccoli, spinach, eggs, fish, and berries.
It’s not bad to have a cheesecake once in a while, but if you can substitute sugar with something else, do it. We recommend erythritol and stevia.
No Idle Hands and Mind
Reading is one that keeps the mind away from anxiety – at times depending on the material. Some of us find comfort in the bible’s words, others find fiction a good way to escape from the harsh realities of life. Whichever rocks your boat, make reading a hobby that keeps your mind active. You can also play mind games with the kids – and then work together to keep the game room tidy. Always find something to do.
Plant
The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, the second time is now. Whether you plant a tree in the garden, an indoor flowering plant, or herbs in the kitchen, planting is relaxing and satisfying. For beginners, the snake plant or sansevieria trifasciata is a beautiful and tough plant that needs very minimum care.
Learn a New Language
Have you always wanted to learn German, Korean, or Japanese? Now is the best time to start. You can start by watching dramas, singing to the songs in the language you want to learn and listening to free lessons. While, it is a different way to learn than what we traditionally do, it will be as effective at some point.
Craft
If you don not have a hobby, find one that you will learn to do in the long run and eventually love. This is not only physical activity like biking, hiking, or such. You can do embroidery, sewing as well. Crafting with the kids, doing DIY projects at home – even simple painting the walls, or painting your favorite scenery or printing your photos on canvas would do.
Sleep Tight
For the body to function well, you need to put it to rest – repair and be ready. Sleep is the body’s way to recharge, so to say.
We’ve heard that proper night’s sleep for our ages varies, we say that sleep enough but not so much that you will feel sluggish. Seven to eight hours of sleep will do you wonders. So make sure that you get this much, even if you’re still up late.
If you are having a hard time falling asleep, we recommend turning off lights, gadgets and any other blinking items half an hour before sleep. Brush your teeth, clean your face, listen to some soothing music, pray and you’ll be off to snoozeland in no time.
If you have trouble sleeping, consulting a doctor would be the best thing to do.
Observe Safety Protocols
Wash your hands often, disinfect, be socially distant, wear a mask are the basic protocols to keeping the virus at bay. Getting vaccinated will also increase one’s chance of not getting infected, but this is not a guarantee. One needs to be aware that the virus exist, but with proper care, it can be avoided.
Staying Safe and Fit At Home: Takeaways
Staying safe and fit at home is more than just doing workouts. Sleep is a big factor too to keep your body working well (machines need rest too), and your mind sound.
Put into consideration the food you take in. The saying, “you are what you eat” is not just a saying after all. Also keep your hands and mind busy with crafting, reading, mind games, and other activities. Being at home doesn’t mean being bored. Taking good care of one’s mental health is as important as staying physically fit.
It certainly is important to work out but not overworking yourself is also key in staying safe and fit. Remember, keeping the home clean is a workout itself.
